PouchDay connects missionary families with trusted travelers who are already heading to mission areas. You submit your package request, we match you with a verified traveler going your direction, and they hand-deliver your package personally. Most packages arrive within a couple of weeks.
How much does it cost to send a package?
Most packages cost only $35 to ship — a fraction of what traditional international couriers charge. The final price depends on weight and destination. You'll see an exact quote before you pay.
Is this service legal? Can I send any kind of items?
Yes, PouchDay operates legally. However, there are restrictions on what can be carried. You may not send liquids over 3.4 oz, flammable materials, food items that require refrigeration, or any prohibited substances. We provide a full shipping restrictions list during checkout. When in doubt, contact us before packing.
Who are the "trusted travelers"?
Our travelers are vetted individuals — often returned missionaries, mission leaders, church members, or families visiting the field — who are already traveling to mission areas and have agreed to carry packages. Every traveler goes through a verification process before being listed on our platform.
What if I don't see my missionary's area listed?
New destinations are added regularly as travelers register their trips. If you don't see your area, fill out a request anyway — we'll notify you as soon as a traveler heading your direction becomes available. You can also contact us directly and we'll do our best to find a match.
How do I know my package will actually arrive?
Once matched with a traveler, you'll coordinate handoff details directly and receive updates until your package is delivered. We also encourage travelers to send a confirmation photo upon delivery. Your peace of mind is part of the service.
Can missionaries use PouchDay to send packages home?
Currently, PouchDay focuses on sending packages TO missionaries. If you're interested in return shipping, contact us — we'd love to hear what you need.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, processed securely through Stripe. You'll only be charged once your package request is matched with a confirmed traveler.
